Hot Biker Guy of the Week: Gerard Butler On His Motorcycle

This is one of those newly discovered (at least for me) "buried treasures" - ENJOY!

All quiet on the Numpty front...

  • Apr. 27th, 2012 at 6:50 PM
what a cutie
Happy Friday, one and all…we made it! There’s not a whole lot going on today. A couple of people posted tweets yesterday about having spotted Gerry at Runyon Canyon, which is a 160-acre park located right in Los Angeles. It’s nice to know that our boy was outdoors getting some exercise in the comparatively fresh air, isn’t it? No photos that I’m aware of though…bummer.

Check out this link – the thread is a wonderful collection of scans of Gerry’s magazine covers from different countries, compiled by his dedicated fans at WOGB.

This link, courtesy of gbutler.ru, is a whole treasure trove of screencaps from “Little White Lies”, a 1998 made-for-television movie in which Gerry appeared.

We can also thank our Russian sisters for this gorgeous magazine cover. Спасибо! Вы, девочки, самые лучшие!

GALS 2012 CONVENTION UPDATEIt looks like the GALS are going to really outdo themselves this year. Not only are Sam Childers (the Machine Gun Preacher himself) and Deborah Giarratana (MGP’s producer) scheduled to appear, they plan to screen the film and follow it up with a Q&A session with Sam. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, I got a tweet this morning saying that the “rat bike” custom built for Gerry to ride in the film will be on display. If that turns out to be true, how “kewl” is that? They sure do go above and beyond the call of fandom. GALS…you ROCK. And just in case you’re wondering what the heck a “rat bike” is, don't feel bad - I had to look it up because I’d never heard the term before either.  ;-D

That’s it for now on this slow news day, my friends. If anything new develops, or even if I’m just mucking around and stumble onto buried treasure, I’ll be back to share it first chance I get!

Love & hugs to you all...

Paisley

Greetings & Salutations, my Gerry-obsessed sisters (and brothers)...I hope you're all having a relaxing evening. The work week is almost over and the finish line is in sight.  :-)

Last night Gerry was in the audience for a performance of “The Crazy Uncle Joe Show” at the Groundlings Theater & School in LA. It sounds like a pretty interesting premise to build a show on. Did you know that, during Shakespeare’s time, poorer theater aficionados were referred to as groundlings? That’s because they couldn’t afford the cost of seating. They had to stand on the ground in front of the stage…hence, “groundlings.” Many thanks to fifiserafino over at WOGB for that neat bit of trivia and what do you know, you actually DO learn something new every day. :-D

This photo was posted to Pablo Rossil’s Twitter account at 12:52 AM this morning and the comment with the image was “THIS! IS! THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!” Closely followed by another tweet – “I even patted Gerard Butler’s back! HAHA”

The folks attending CinemaCon2012 in Las Vegas recently got to view some footage from "Of Men and Mavericks." Lucky devils! This is the first official image of Gerry and Johnny Weston - courtesy of the film’s Facebook page.

The Scottish Fashion Awards have compiled their list for 2012 Fashion Icon and can you guess who's on it? You know what to do, ladies. Easy as can be – just go here to vote for our darling man. Only one vote per email address is allowed so the results might even be close to legitimate!

Well, I’ve got to go now – it’s time to start dinner and if I don’t get my butt in gear soon we’ll be eating just before bedtime! Wishing you all peaceful slumber filled with visions of Numpty dancing through your heads.   ;-D

Love & Hugs,

Don't even THINK about it!

  • Apr. 26th, 2012 at 6:28 PM

Hey, my sweet Numpty...are you out there? Listen...

There’s a lot of buzz going around about Lindsay Lohan being lined up to star as Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie “Liz and Dick.” It’s been widely reported that LiLo would love to have you portray Richard Burton to her Liz.

Now normally, it would be absurd for us to even entertain the thought that this scenario could ever come to pass except…you and LiLo are friends and you have been known to suffer the occasional lapse in judgment from time to time - you know it's true!    ;-D

If somebody bounces this idea your way, even if Lindsay herself asks nicely, take my unsolicited advice - DON’T DO IT. You’re such a sweet, sensitive and compassionate guy that you might consider doing it to help a friend get back on track career wise. You may also have worlds of respect for Taylor, Burton or both. Trust me though, it’s a bad idea for more than one reason.

You know for a fact that the tabloids are already far too eager to turn you and LiLo into yet another “thing.” Can you even begin to imagine the field day they would have if the two of you actually worked on a film together? The proposed title itself would play right into their slimy paws. “Liz and Dick”? Seriously, that’s the best they could come up with? Oh, the humanity.    :-P

There’s also the not-so-small matter of LiLo’s numerous trips to rehab.  That girl makes my OPMHS flare up something awful. The idea of your spending too much time with her concerns me because I think she’d be a bad influence on you. With your addictive personality, why invite trouble by hanging around with a person who might (even unintentionally) tempt you to go astray?

Okay sweetie, I’m done clucking at you…for now. You can take your fingers out of your ears and stop going “la la la la la”...

Love You Lots…
Paisley

Rascal

Hi everybody or, more accurately, anybody who might be in here - for all I know I’m giving a shout out to an empty clubhouse! No, you aren't in the wrong place I just decided to redecorate. I'd been wanting a more elegant look for a while but just didn't get around to it - what do you think?

Gerry was courtside on “celebrity row” for the Lakers/Thunder battle last Sunday. The Lakers pulled it out, winning 114-106 in double overtime, and Gerry looked like he was having an outstanding time. And why wouldn’t he, with pretty girls busting sexy dance moves and the home team winning? Check out 3 pages of fresh Gerry Juice, courtesy of the gals at GALS.  :-D
http://www.gbgalsgallery.com/v/partiesetc/2012/lakers042212/

Gerry was also in attendance for “Cathouse Monday” at TRU nightclub in downtown Los Angeles the other night. He was snapped by photographers as he was leaving and seemed to be in pretty good spirits - not scowling at the paps anyway!

Although it’s still only showing up as “rumored” on Gerry’s IMDB listing, “Motor City” appears to have found a backer. That’s good to know, although I’m a bit perturbed by someone's comment about their not paying their bills. I don’t pay much attention to what’s going on in the movie industry unless it’s Gerry-centric so I can sort of dismiss my not knowing any of the films they’ve funded. That comment, though....is the poster a disgruntled ex-employee or is there actually a financial problem? I just hope Emmett/Furla doesn’t turn out to be Relativity’s long lost sibling.

A fan in one of the Facebook groups I was invited to join posted the wonderful photo above. I can't remember who or which group it was to save my life but that's okay. After all, what really matters is being able to lose oneself in those beautiful, sometimes turbulent, changeable eyes.

I think that’s going to do it for the time being, my friends. Sending lots of love, hugs, and warm-n-fuzzies your way…

Dazed & Confused

  • Apr. 11th, 2012 at 6:49 PM
don't mess with me

Hello everybody…I apologize for not being around lately. I’ve got a couple of things going on in real life that are taking all of my time and sapping my energy.

I’m going through a bit of upheaval at home and just don’t have it in me to do much of anything except get up, go to work, come home, do chores and go to bed. I've gone from being subdued and distraught to being irritable and resentful which is actually a vast improvement but I don’t think you could technically call it progress.    ):-P

I’m also in the middle of helping my mother move. She currently lives in an upstairs apartment at her senior housing complex and a downstairs apartment that (mostly) meets her stringent criteria finally became available. So I’ve been trying to help get her situated at the same time I’m attempting to regain my equilibrium.

I’m monitoring the Gerry-sphere and reading my Google alerts as usual – I just don’t have the spirit to pass on what I’m reading right now. Fortunately there's not a heck of a lot happening on planet Numpty at the moment. Anyway, I promise I’ll back in a day or two when I’m not so…so…rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr….

Lots of love & big hugs to you all...
Paisley

P.S. - maybe I'll try making some Gerry art. That always puts me in a better mood. Can't imagine why.     :-)

"Hoppy" Easter!

  • Apr. 6th, 2012 at 7:07 PM

Happy Easter weekend, my sisters! I decided to fire my journal up again right before the holiday and then we get hit with a tidal wave of new stuff - isn’t that always the way? Not that I’m one to complain mind you…not AT ALL!

I’m going to be pretty busy this weekend – for some insane reason I got it into my head to volunteer to do Easter at my house this year. I may not be around much over the next couple of days, but for now I’m going to get right down to it and make with the goods!

From our Russian sisters at gbutler.ru – this treasure chest of old-fashioned fun and madcap mayhem. I love those girls…they come up with some of the most awesome stuff imaginable. The image above is just a delicious sample of the treats in store for you…to see the rest, click here! ;-D
http://gbutler.ru/photos/rock-n-rolla-specials-daniel-smith-photography/

From The Sydney Morning Herald – Check it out, yet another shift in men’s style, courtesy of our sweet, unassuming man-child. Gerry’s name is mentioned about two thirds of the way through. Cute! http://www.smh.com.au/executive-style/style/all-the-trimmings-20120404-1wbeg.html

Gerry was at the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show at Madison Square Garden last night. Gianni is a performer in the production and posted this photo of the two of them backstage after the show. Numpty looks like the Artful Dodger in that battered top hat & scarf, doesn’t he? I love it – the raggedy old plaid shirt he wears all the time fit the whole look perfectly. (Just own it, Gerry my sweet, it’s a rag…but I love it anyway because YOU do!)   Gianni said - “Chilling with actor Gerard Butler (300, Law Abiding Citizen, PS I Love You) backstage after my show! He is so down2earth! Awesome talk”

Later last night, Gerry had the crowd at The Darby all “juiced” up when he got on stage for some entertainment including a rendition of his signature karaoke song “Wonderwall” and a rap battle. The boy is SUCH an “all-natural” ham! Get the details as well as more photos of the night’s festivities here…

AND HERE!

From Get Mascular – This one’s for all of those doubters out there who questioned Gerry’s physique in 300. I’d like to see them try to keep up with this grueling regimen. I’m not, nor have I ever been, what you could call even remotely athletically inclined but this is just…YIKES!
http://getmascular.blogspot.com/2012/04/gerard-butler-workouts-and-diet.html

And last, but most certainly not least - Machine Gun Preacher is set for DVD release in the U.S. on June 5th. I can't wait...WHOOT!!!!

'Kay...that's it for now ladies!
Love & Hugs...

SUITABLE FOR FRAMING :-)

I made this "little pretty" when there was a lull in the action a couple of weeks ago. Hope you like it!

Hoo boy...here we go again

  • Apr. 4th, 2012 at 6:31 PM
tongue

Greetings & Salutations, my long-suffering friends! I apologize for being so on again/off again with Larger Than Life. I really can’t seem to make up my mind about it one way or the other, can I? I’m not running around trumpeting my return like I did the last time at least, because I have absolutely NO idea how long this will last.

I was trying to figure out why I’m finding it so hard to turn my back on LTL for good. I think it’s because I’ve discovered so many pages and groups on Facebook that are dedicated to Gerry and although what I'm doing is fun, it's no different from what anybody else is doing. Many equally smitten Gerry fans are posting links, photos, videos and observations. That’s always wonderful to see but I guess I’d like for my own worshipping to be a more unique reflection of my personality. That’s me…always gotta be the “different” one, you know? ;-D

Anyway, I make no promises because like I said I have no idea how long this will last. I don’t want to disappoint anybody and I could fizzle out again at any moment. But in the meantime (and without further self-psychoanalysis, Dr. Paisley) here are some sweet little tidbits for you to nibble on. Enjoy!

The Energizer Numpty strikes again? Gerry caught a rousing performance of “Peter and The Starcatcher” on Broadway yesterday…
http://www.broadway.com/shows/peter-and-starcatcher/buzz/161028/ahoy-mateys-hollywood-hunk-gerard-butler-sets-sail-with-the-stars-of-peter-and-the-starcatcher/
…and then the next thing you know, he’s expected to appear at THIS event clear across the country tomorrow. Gerry honey, when do you sleep, in mid-flight? Or, more to the point, DO you sleep? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/fash-track/planet-dailies-mixology-101-cocktail-lounge-west-hollywood-307615

Well now…this is something that I hadn’t heard before...I wonder if it’s true. I remember reading somewhere that Gerry would visit his dad in Toronto during summer vacations so it very well could be! http://www.thegridto.com/culture/music/then-now-tazmanian-ballroom/

The only complaint I have with the two lists featured in this post by GALS’ “becozy” and the comments that follow is that Gerry isn’t number one on both of them! I realize that there’s no accounting for taste and all but in my opinion some of these guys have no business being on either of those lists. Of course, I must confess to being just a *teensy* little bit biased. And how about that – a video tribute to Gerry’s lusciously tangled locks…who knew?   ;-D
http://www.gerardbutlergals.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39610&pid=1490050&st=0&%20#entry1490050

Okay, think that's gonna do it for now my dears.  Have a wonderful night full of sweet Numpty dreams!

Love & hugs...
Paisley

Hello...anybody in here?

  • Apr. 3rd, 2012 at 11:03 AM

Testing...testing...is this thing on? (tap tap)

Greetings, my friends...I don't now what the heck I'm doing here - I think maybe I'm just a bit nostalgic for the camaraderie of the ol' clubhouse and thought I'd stop in and have a look around. Just for spits and giggles, I did a test post for video and - get this - it actually WORKED (for the first time in months). So I'm posting it for real. Is this Numpty's way of telling me I should come back home to my journal? I dunno - I think what I want is something that's more intimate like Live Journal but user-friendly like Facebook. I don't know if such an animal even exists! I like Facebook well enough, I really do, but it sure is nice to kick back and relax here for a change...it's just a different vibe.

Anyway, I just wanted to send you all lots of love & big hugs. Oh, and of course this wonderful video by my friend Rasha Jbara (she of the lovely fan art). I hope she doesn't mind my showcasing her video here without asking her first. Um hey, Rasha? Do you remember the other day how I told you I wasn't posting in my journal anymore? Well...umm...I feel really silly now, but is it okay if I host your beautiful video here? I apologize for not asking first - I was just goofing around and was so surprised and happy when video embed worked but I will remove it if you wish.
